FAQs

What’s the pay rate?

That will depend on the opportunity, the client’s budget, and your skills and experience.

We can typically pay at or above the market rate for these roles within a nonprofit.

How soon can I get started?

That depends. Sometimes we get a rush of exciting opportunities; sometimes we can go for weeks without signing a new client.

What’s it like to work for Sean Hale Consulting?

We’re all seasoned professionals. Low drama and low turnover.

People who work well independently tend to thrive here.

Where is the work located?

We serve nonprofits around the USA. 98% of the work happens remotely and typically on a schedule that suits you.

Can I have other jobs or clients?

Absolutely! As an independent contractor, we encourage you to have clients or employment independent of Sean Hale Consulting.

Would I be a contractor or employee?

You would be an independent contractor with all that typically entails, including flexibility around where, when, and how you work. You will also be responsible for paying all of your taxes (as a 1099 contractor, we do not do withholdings for you).

What opportunities are available today?

That depends on when you read this.

I always like to have a few qualified people ready to go because when an opportunity presents itself, we frequently have to move quickly. That’s especially true of our interim engagements when a sudden vacancy at a nonprofit calls for someone who can step in within a few days.

What if I don’t like the opportunity you offer?

Please let me know ASAP. If you already know before we have a contract, you’re never obliged to say “yes” to me. That’s one of the perks of being an independent contractor.

If, after you start, the opportunity turns sour, similarly let me know ASAP so we can make new arrangements.
